Southwest Florida shined in the overall scores, in fact, Naples ranked #1 on the American mainland. In the overall findings, the top-spot went to the city of Lahaina in Hawaii (no volcanoes there), yet as far as the continental United States, Naples ranks best. Naples additionally took the top slot for quality of life, and tied for number with a handful of other metropolitan areas as far as having the highest per capita number of restaurants, coffee shops and late-night establishments for fun and fellowship. Other communities in our area also fared well in the findings. Marco Island was not only recognized among America’s best, but scored 2nd in the nation for having the lowest violent crime rate. It also tied for first place for having the most waterfront homes for sale. Both Fort Myers and Bonita Springs were also recognized. Bonita Springs was identified among the top eight of America’s beach towns with the best economy.
